Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings-that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.

Saul

The other day Saul was in the car with us and meowed as we drove by a Toxic Hell, uh, I mean Taco Bell. We told him, "Oh, you don't want go there. They'll turn you into chalupas. No. No. Saulupas." Hee hee.

Trad to Mod

I happened upon this sturdy, clean-lined chest of drawers and knew there were possibilities. I kept it simple. After a thorough scrub, sanding and three coats of whale gray, it is just what I needed!

Many Ghosts

Many Ghosts by Akron Family

Oh Happy Day

The piece above is titled Oh Happy Day. My inspiration for this piece was BloomaUganda, whose mission, in conjunction with Off the Mat Foundation, is to raise funds to build a Shanti Uganda Birth House and Learning Centre. This is crucial as 150 women die each week due to childbirth complications. Last week we headed to the Gala and Oh Happy Day was auctioned off for the cause and went to a new home.

This week, I am headed to two donation yoga classes to benefit BloomaUganda: Thursday, November 19, 7:45 PM, Chakras with Nan and Sunday, November 22, 7:00 PM Voda Vinyasa and Vino. Care to join me and support a great cause?

A New Earth

Recognize the ego for what it is: a collective dysfunction, the insanity of the human mind. When you recognize it for what it is, you no longer misperceive it as somebody's identity. Once you see the ego for what it is, it becomes much easier to remain nonreactive toward it. You don't take it personally anymore. There is no complaining, blaming, accusing, or making wrong. Nobody is wrong. It is the ego in someone, that's all. Compassion arises when you recognize that all are suffering from the same sickness of the mind, some more acutely than others. You do not fuel the drama anymore that is part of all egoic relationships. What is its fuel? Reactivity. The ego thrives on it.

Busta Move

Time for a challenge!
A Push-up Challenge.
I need to psyche myself up for this one.
Push-ups every day to get my farm girl muscles back.
Anyone care to join me?
