we finished our salon-style wall. two tries set it right. i'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Inspiration Board

This is our current inspiration board. We simply removed the print from a hefty black frame(spray painted at an earlier date) and started taping our bits and bobs(with paint-safe tape, of course) on the the wall to inspire us.

Many little bits carry their own story. Some were obscurely found, some remind us of happy times and people we love. Our board changes a lot, as we are always adding to it. It looks different now than when I snapped these photos a few days ago. It always makes us smile and reminds us to be grateful. Sometimes we just stand in front of it with our arms wrapped around one another and look and smile.

Yesterday I went to Free Ink Day at Highpoint Center For Printmaking. It was my first time making monoprints and they're a bit sloppy, but it was fun and I learned so much. I was so so clueless when I first arrived.

What a fabulous weekend it was...there is nothing better than sunshine, bikes, friends, picnics, creating, good food, drinks, movies...

YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME

Oh Happy Day

The piece above is titled Oh Happy Day. My inspiration for this piece was BloomaUganda, whose mission, in conjunction with Off the Mat Foundation, is to raise funds to build a Shanti Uganda Birth House and Learning Centre. This is crucial as 150 women die each week due to childbirth complications. Last week we headed to the Gala and Oh Happy Day was auctioned off for the cause and went to a new home.

This week, I am headed to two donation yoga classes to benefit BloomaUganda: Thursday, November 19, 7:45 PM, Chakras with Nan and Sunday, November 22, 7:00 PM Voda Vinyasa and Vino. Care to join me and support a great cause?
